This is a great dish and chip shop in Christchurch. The service is amazing and the staff are friendly courteous and helpful. There may be queues to get your food so make sure to get in there early. There is parking available on street. To really experience the food , one need to to try the cod and chips to enjoy the flavours. Highly recommended for anyone and everyone who really wants to enjoy a fish and chip experience. Thank you and have a great day

Stunning Cod and chips I had, lovely crispy batter cooked to perfection. Very generous portion

Always welcomed on arrival, not a regular takeaway person. But Bargates fisheries always our fish and chips stop. Always meet our high standard, plus cod roe usually available. Great place for your fish & chips folks…

Finally tried this little gem of a fish and chip shop tonight. Ordered a large cod, chips and curry sauce. My god it was absolutely cooked to perfection. I normally try something different every Friday night on my way to football but will be going back next week for sure. The staff were very friendly and made to feel welcome. I was a fryer for many years in fish and chip shop and got to say I couldn’t cook it like that. Well done guys

Loving this family run business. Great fish and chips cooked within few minutes was toped up with a home-made curry souce and an apple pie for pudding. Yum-yum! Thank you for lovely service!
